PLC & Motion Control

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

Medical Device Assembly and Test Equipment–

Electrical and Software engineering for two up machine to orient and press plastic parts.  Verification of assembly through force signature.  Lubrication via EFD Pico Dot dispensing system.

Medical Band Forming –

Form metal bands into specific shapes for heart valves in a clean room environment.  Bands are advanced between a stainless steel and Urethane roll.  Coordinated servo motion with force control produces specific radii and length during forming. PLC recipe control.  Vision measurement using Keyence IM system.

Water Filter Web Processing

Field retrofit of the HMI and PLC to integrate web tension, heat weld and roll speed.  Primary calculations to control the speed and predict the final roll diameter based on idler roll speed versus unwind speed using encoders.

Dental Implant Counting and Packaging

Controls retrofit that combined two twelve to fifteen year old machines.  Parts bowl fed to a servo controlled custom belt conveyor to cingulate and count before putting in box. Boxes were de-stacked and folded while transported around on a rotary servo indexer.  Boxes were laser marked with information scanned in by operator and looked up from recipe.  Information communicated to the laser via TCP/IP.  Barcodes were printed on the bags with information sent to the printer via RS232.
