Part of a team that designed a system to integrate a variety of equipment to machine and paint brake drums. The system utilized line scan machine vision technology to orient drums by inspecting the entire outside diameter to find the valve stem hole. A robot was then used to process the drums through a vertical lathe, a machining center and drill, before placing them on the exit conveyor to be pin stamped with a 2D barcode before leaving the cell..
